Administrative Biographies

Charles K. Runyon, President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Runyon has been president and chief executive officer of St. John's since 2002. He previously served as executive vice president, chief operating officer and administrator. He oversees the operations and staff members of St. John's Home, St. John's Meadows, and St. John's Senior Communities. He is a member of the board of directors of the New York State Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (NYAHSA) and is also chair of the board of directors of the Rochester Area Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (RAHSA), the local affiliate of NYAHSA. Mr. Runyon also serves on the board of the local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.

Ms. Pollicove has been with St. John's since 1988 and is a member of the senior executive team and an officer of St. John's corporations. She focuses on executive leadership, strategic planning, corporate goal setting and achievement. Ms. Pollicove oversees all development initiatives and serves as the corporate spokesperson.

John Toscano, Vice President - Finance

Mr. Toscano has been vice president of finance since 1983. He was previously controller for Star Super Markets, Inc. and an auditor for the CPA firm of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell. He is a graduate of St. John Fisher College with a degree in accounting.

Veronica Barber, Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, St. John's Home
Ms. Barber was appointed vice president and chief administrative officer of St. John's Home in 2002. She was previously with the New York Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (NYAHSA), where she served as senior policy analyst. Veronica, a licensed NYS administrator, has a very broad base of knowledge, including operations, government policy (both State and Federal), and regulatory issues.

Marie Aydelotte, M.D.
has been the medical director of St. John's Home since 1996. She is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and completed residency and fellowship training at the University of Rochester. She is certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She is also a trained Eden Associate.

Pat Flannery
has been director of nursing since 2002, when she returned to St. John's after furthering her education. She had worked here for 15 years previously. Pat has implemented numerous programs to attract and retain quality staff and has eliminated the use of agencies. She has also received training as an Eden Associate.

Anne DePoint, Vice President - Operations
Anne oversees operations at both St. John's Home and St. John's Meadows. She has served as administrator of health services at the Chesapeake, a continuing care retirement community in Newport News, VA. She received her MBA in health care management from the University of Phoenix and holds a BS in nursing from SUNY Buffalo. She is also certified in quality management, CPR, and is a certified legal nurse consultant.

Mark Peartree, Vice President - Operations
Mark oversees departmental operations at St. John's Home and St. John's Meadows. He is a NYS licensed nursing home administrator with 26 years of experience in long term care and senior housing. He has served as chief operating officer at Episcopal SeniorLife Communities. He held previous administrative positions at St. Ann's Community, the Highlands at Brighton, and DeMay Living Center. He earned his bachelor's degree from RIT and his master's from SUNY Brockport.

Duane Girdner, Vice President - Marketing

Duane oversees the marketing of St. John's. He previously held three successsive positions within the Seniorsfirst organization and is a member of several Rochester-area professional groups, specializing in elder care, including GRAPE and RAHSA. He is a graduate of Roberts Wesleyan College.
