Our Volunteers... The heart of St. John's Home
From our earliest days, dedicated volunteers have played a vital role in creating the nurturing environment found at St. John's. Volunteers maintain our library, gift and ice cream shops, transport residents to appointments and most importantly, provide welcome companionship. Each volunteer comes to us with different interests, talents, and abilities. Depending on your preferences, St. John's Home can offer you a variety of choices for a challenging, enjoyable, and rewarding volunteer experience. New discoveries and exciting opportunities await you as a St. John's Home volunteer.
We invite individuals and groups from corporate volunteer programs to exercise their talents and skills by participating in some of our special programs. We also encourage local secondary schools and universities to get involved in special events and programs. To volunteer independently, you must be at least 14 years of age.
As a way to thank our volunteers for their generosity, we offer free meals in our cafeteria, free flu shots and PPD screening and discounts on St. John's community services. Volunteers also enjoy the annual Volunteer Recognition Event. Hours and days are flexible, including evenings and weekends, to meet your schedule. To make sure you feel comfortable and prepared to assist in activities and programs, we are happy to provide the level of training you need. The Volunteer Manager and professional staff conduct training sessions, and welcome your ideas and suggestions.
To find out more about volunteer opportunities at St. John's for you, your group or business, call our Volunteer Manager at 585-760-1293, fill out and submit our volunteer form, or send e-mail to volunteer@stjohnshome.com.
